Ranjani lives in the beautiful hills of Sowlore, India, and that’s where her story with The Hope Venture begins. We met Ranjani at a Hope Venture vocational training center where we teach women like her tailoring skills. She went through our 6 month program, learning about the trade and applying what she was taught. Ranjani enjoyed it so much that she has come back to the center and asked our instructor if she can use one of the sewing machines when it’s not in use.
Almost everyday, Ranjani is back at the center making scarfs. Her husband has a small shop in town and she has been able to sell her scarfs at this shop and people seem to really like her work. She has sold over 100 scarfs so far and she is excited to help her family make some money in this way. The income she adds to the family helps with education expenses and other family needs.
Ranjani is so grateful for the training and has found pride in making something others enjoy.
